- Note that a Zero in any category means you will be at the bottom of the market in terms of that respective attribute. It does NOT mean your vehicles are without that attribute.
Model Lineup
You get a line up of 7 models to begin with chosen from the following:
Compact 4-Door Sedan
Compact 4-Door Hatchback
Compact 4-Door Wagon
Compact 2-Door Coupe (2+2)

2 Seater Coupe
2 Seater Convertible (Soft Top)
2 Seater Convertible (Hard Top-Retractable or Detachable)
- Hybrid, PHEV, Electric, and Diesel versions of any body style count as a separate model
Bonus points
If you name your brand and two benchmark competitor brands, add 1 point to any individual brand attribute. Attribute total = 26 points
If you name all of your model lineup, add 2 points to any individual/pair of attributes. Attribute total = 27 points

My brand will be called TFV. Technology-Forward Vehicles. Goal is to make something people actually want to buy. The vehicles will be efficient, sparse, lightweight and technology forward. Not ‘technology forward’ in the way of adding gadgets, but technology forward in the way Citroen, Saab and Lancia were. With one key difference. Whereas those brands were mostly for quirky individualists, my cars will appeal to everyone. The goal is to make people _want_ to drive my car. Intended competitors are current SMART and Tesla clientele. Key market will be inner city people that don’t need a traditional car, but want a TFV car. They won’t offer traditional value, but instead of a 3 series with a lot of space space you don’t need you can get a more practical TFV car that suits inner city life with a real focus on driving pleasure and mobility.
Performance will be suitable, but not mindblowing. Nothing over a 150 horsepower, but low weight will help make the car feel fast and planted.
TFV doesn’t need or has the place to offer 7 vehicles. The few vehicles offered will be cabover designs (or as much as a Smart is a cabover), maximizing space and aerodynamic efficiency. The powertrain will be turbine-plug-in-hybrid. Suspension will be active. The spoilers and whatnot will also be active.
The interior will be sparse. Think 60’s FIAT sparse. Very very few bits and bobs to play with. The few knobs that there are are well-thought out. Everything in the car will work seamlessly and will be designed with care. Stuff like awful steering wheels and bargain-bin seatbelt clips (seriously why does every car, from a renault 5 to an s class use virtually the same clips) will not fly.
The design will be restrained, but with a slight edge. Think Zagato.
This is a brand for nerds and spec-comparing people to cry out in terror.

My reinterpretation of Volvo and Saab, if they were to somehow merge under Geely and become sister brands:
Volvo (Mercedes/Lexus competitor):
Performance-6
Technology-3

Service-2
Design-4
Value-2
Special trademarks: All models RWD (w/ AWD options), all have inline engines w/ turbo, diesel, or hybrid variants, luxury oriented
Compact 4-Door Sedan - Volvo S20 with a N/A or turbo I3 engine and N/A or turbo I4 engine options (competes with Mercedes CLA, Audi A3)
Compact 2-Door Coupe/Convertible - Volvo P20 with same engine options as S20 (compete with Opel Cascadia, etc.)
Compact 3-Door Shooting Break - Volvo C20 with same engine options as S20 (like a more luxurious 3-door Fiesta, etc.)
Compact 5 -Door Wagon - Volvo V30 with same engine options as S20 (competes with Audi A3 hatch, BMW 1 Series hatch)
Compact CUV (5 seater only) - Volvo XC30 with same engine options as Volvo S20 (completes with Mercedes GLA, etc.)

Competing with the likes of Local Motors and Porsche AG, Lightning Motors is an American performance car company specializing in simple, reliable, sports-oriented cars at affordable prices. Built to last, on tuner-friendly platforms, Lightning Motors vehicles are created using time-tested, proven technology, paired with innovative design and engineering to deliver a superior driving experience.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Thunderbolt - Lightning Motors’ premier sports car, the Thunderbolt is a 2 door, 2 passenger coupe. The Thunderbolt is powered by Lightning Motors CE8, a modularly designed, naturally-aspirated, DOHC 4.2L V8. Featuring direct-injection and a flat plane crank, the CE8 has a square 55mm bore and stroke which allows it to rev to nearly 11k RPM, while producing 550 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent from the front-mid mounted engine to the rear wheels through a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission and 2-way limited-slip differential. The Thunderbolt features independent rear suspension with inboard shocks and springs, double wishbone front suspension, and 4 wheel disc brakes; 12 inch front, 11 inch rear. The Thunderbolt’s construction consists of fiberglass body panels mounted to an aluminum tub with a tubular steel subframe front and rear. Like all Lightning Motors vehicles, the Thunderbolt ’s interior is relatively spartan, featuring minimal sound-deadening, and woven-nylon carpeting. Standard seats are race-inspired, fully bolstered with 5-point harness. Options include comfort oriented touring seats, weight saving Bose in-dash sound system, and single fold-out cup holder. MSRP - $45,999
Flashbang - A compact, 2 passenger, mid-engined coupe, the Flashbang is Lightning Motors’ entry level sports model. The Flashbang is powered by LM ’s CE4, a 2.5L 4 cylinder derived from the CE8, producing 250 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the wheels via a 5-speed manual. The Flashbang is constructed of a fiberglass body over a lightweight tubular steel frame, and features coil-over suspension and disc brakes at all four corners. Options include factory adjustable coil-overs and LSD. MSRP - $23,599
Apollo/Apollo X - The Lightning Motors Apollo is a 4 passenger, mid size sedan available as either a 2 door or 4 door. Sporting either the BA6, an NA, DOHC, direct-injection, 3.5L inline-six making 325 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque, or the turbocharged BA6T in the Apollo X , which adds a single turbocharger and intercooler to boost the power output up to 425 hp and the torque to 450 lb-ft. Both cars share a 6 speed manual transmission and LSD. The Apollo X also features a firmer suspension, lightweight wheels with high-performance summer tires, and larger disc brakes borrowed from the Thunderbolt. MSRP - Apollo $24,999, Apollo X $31,999
Firestorm - The Firestorm is Lightning Motors’ entry into the compact sport truck world. Powered by the BA6T found in the Apollo X, mated to a symmetrical AWD system, the Firestorm is capable hauling loads and hauling ass. MSRP - $35,999
Hailstorm - The Firestorm ’s off road counterpart, the Hailstorm, s hares its AWD system and is based on the same chassis but features a heavy duty lifted suspension and off road tires. Equipped to handle the rigors of off road performance, the Hailstorm is powered by the more durable BA6 rather than its turbocharged cousin. MSRP - $29,999
Zeus - At the top of Lightning Motors ’ model range is the Zeus . Built for long range touring with a nod towards endurance racing, the Zeus is a 2 door, 4 passenger (2+2) GT with a sporting pedigree. Aluminum-bodied and motivated by the Lightning Motors BA12T, the Zeus is a full size car that moves and handles like a much smaller vehicle. The car’s BA12T engine is a V12 based on the Apollo X’s BA6T. At 7L, and twin-turbocharged, the BA12T emits a thunderous 800 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque. The most highly appointed of Lightning Motors lineup, the Zeus eschews the bare bones interior for modest appointments such as power windows, vinyl seats, and an auxiliary audio jack. MSRP - $59,999
Thor - For those who want practicality with their madness, the Thor is a 2 door wagon version of the Zeus . Sharing all the features of its big brother, but with a detuned, naturally aspirated version of the BA12T, dubbed the BA12, and featuring additional cargo space, at a lower price, some refer to the Thor as the ‘Jalopnik Special.’ MSRP - $48,999

Yes and no. Apple offers only polish and no geekery. TFV will offer the geekery in spades. And that will be a defining feature of the brand.
The goal is to make something like an XL1 that you can buy. But with gas turbines and active suspension and active aerodynamics.

Main competitors will be manufacturers like Caterham, Morgan, and Ariel for the sports cars, and probably closest to old-school RenaultSport for the hatches. Not sure the CUV idea has a competitor as yet. Maybe a Defender V8 or a Wrangler would be closest, or a Juke Nismo with added Ariel Nomad.
Model Lineup:
1 & 2 - Spitfire (2-seater convertible/coupe): lightweight tube-frame car with proven mechanical grip technologies like double-wishbone suspension, good dampers etc. Comes with either a fuel injected 1050cc Triumph Triple or two mated together to make a 2100cc DOHC inline 6. Sumptuous bodywork, clean and flowing design. Think a Caterham with sex appeal.
3 & 4 - Spitfire EV (2-seater convertible/coupe): same as above but with EV drivetrains
5 - Spitfire Scrambler (2-seater coupe): same as above, but with lifted Baja-style suspension, big knobbly tyres and genuine offroad capability both in an overlanding sense and a Baja pre-runner sense. The world’s first affordable offroad sports car! Clean up shop at rallycross :)
6 - Dolomite (Compact 4-door hatchback): Use an existing sub-compact hatchback inner bodyshell, with radically altered bodywork in the same style as the above Spitfire (clean, flowing design). Variety of hot engines from existing manufacturers (likely hotted up turbo BMW I4s to keep ties to former owners).
7 - Dolomite Scrambler (Compact CUV): Same as above, but with genuine offroad capability like the spitfire Scrambler. Look the part too with lifted suspension, flared arches and big knobbly tyres. No horrible tall CUV bodyshell either. More like a standard hatchback lifted.

Scratch the Spitfire coupe EV model. That’s just an option on the convertible one.
Better idea!
4 - Toledo Scrambler (Compact 2-door Pickup Truck): Exactly the same as the Dolomite Scrambler, but scrap the boot and the rear two doors and install a pickup bed!

Late to the party, but I still want a try at this, it should be fun.
Brand name: Impeto.
Benchmarks: Saab and Lancia. But if they don’t count due to their current statuses; Volvo and Mazda are close enough.
Attributes:
Performance- 5
Technology- 3
Economy- 2
Luxury- 4
Service- 3
Design- 6
Value- 5
Attributes in bold are key strengths.
Lineup:
Compact 2-Door Coupe (2+2) - Saiga
First up we have the Saiga, which is the budget model. But it is also mid-engined like an MR2, making it the rebirth of the MR commuter car.
Compact 4-Door Wagon - Shuto
Next is the Shuto, it means “Shoot” in Japanese as homage to the Shooting Brake. It’s a sensible model but still unique in design.
Midsize 4-Door Coupe (Liftback) - Soprano
The sedan is the Soprano, paying homage to the liftback Saabs and Citroens of old. It drives like an E30 and has a smooth engine to boot.
Fullsize 4-Door Sedan - Strata
Speaking of smooth, we have the Strata, as the name implies it is all about status. The best large-engined executive car, guaranteed.
Fullsize SUV ( 6 seater) - Sisu
Named after a complex Finnish word which roughly translates to “balls of steel” we have the Sisu, our resident SUV for families or the muddy stuff.
2 Seater Coupe - Serpent
Now it’s time for our first serious performance machine, the Serpent. Somewhere between an RX-7 and an Italian sports car in design.
Fullsize 2-Door Coupe (4 seater) - Surveil
Finally, there is the range topping Surveil. Classy GT car with some crazy engineering at around 8-Series or Cosmo levels.
Every model name begins with an “S” because nomenclature..
And there you go, that’s my brand. It’s a revival of the wacky ideas my benchmark brands had in the past, but now perfected and attainable.
